And so the term is over and with it the completion of my second year at St Matthew’s. Being a principal again has been a challenge and a joy. We have closely examined what was happening at school and set about improving ourselves. The results have been spectacular – I know it.
The proof is simple. Our children are starting to be more confident in their day to day learning. Their energy and diligence levels have improved. Book work is better. The walls and environments are rich. The pride in our school is growing!
Over the two years we have had some major challenges. I’m sure we will have challenges in the future. The key is to take it one day at a time and strive toward solid goals with the children as the focus.
“Slowing the pace” has been a catch phrase we have used often. Now its time for me to take my own advice and slow down for a few days.
Happy Easter to all.
