I am live blogging from the NZPF conference here in Palmerston North.
We have just listened to Peter Sheahan talking about Generation Y people and leadership. He was a good speaker, very dynamic and motivating. I gained an insight into leadership in that leaders need to connect with their people. He was full of ideas about people and social trends. The importance of the teacher rather than the technology, of creating a team and team culture to enable people to grow, develop and flourish so they may stay and serve.
Another insight I gained is that Catholic education has many of these factors inherently built in – we call it pastoral care – it really is about educationg the whole person – teachers included – as we create and live in dynamic learnng communities.
Thanks to Peter for sharing these insights.
